For Garrrr
They call it a gift when they bring it before the throne. Dorrek VIII, young emperor of the Skrull people, barely even bothered to pay any attention to the cloth covered box that was rolled up before the throne. These particular military leaders weren't much of ones that he cared for, and frankly while he was invested in the eventual journey to Earth and conquering it
The 'gift' to get back into his good graces didn't seem likely to amuse him in any way. There was nothing intriguing about Earth. So the Emperor had ignored their simpering and scrapping before him. It was unbecoming of a Skrull to be anything other than strong and dominating warriors. Still, he cut off their rambling dialog and waved to one of his royal guard. K'lrt, ever the devoted servant, stepped forward and whipped the cloth off.
And Dorrek considered what was presented to him with a raised eyebrow. This, of course, was not what he'd been expected. He hadn't expected a living being.
"Where did you find it?" he asked in Skrull, continuing the conversation in his native tongue.
"It attempted to attack us," one of the generals, who was kneeling out of reach of the cage spoke. "It is more than it seems. Like Skrull, but not."
Intriguing. Dorrek gestured for the clear tank on wheels (with air holes of course), to be rolled closer. Let him better see this prize.

“How am I supposed to even trust them, Theo?” Gar points out, it’s not like he has a great history with guards and the like. He pulls away from the other and makes his way to the food to eat.

"Then who would you have?"

Gar frowns still, worried at the idea still somehow.
"No one wants me here but you."

Gar smiles a little but he's still worried. He's not had the best experience with most of the other skrull. He shifts so he can drop his legs over the other's lap as he eats.
"I only trust you."

He just still remembers when he was captive, when there were those that went against Theo's wishes. Could either of them ever be really sure?

Gar sighs and he drops his head against the other's shoulder as he looks up at him.
"I can't do that to you."

"I know, Theo. It's just difficult," Gar says, the memories of how things had first started of being imprisoned and not protected.

In fact, they rarely do from his experience. He's not had a chance to be comfortable in a long time.

"I know and I don't want you to send me away again, Theo," Gar replies and he gives up on eating because well he'd had some so the hunger is more in the background of his mind.
"I'll do anything to stay with you."
no subject
"I do not wish to lose you either, Gar. You warm my heart."
And frankly, his bed, but that's a lower priority.

Gar smiles and he rests his cheek against the other's shoulder as he lets the other hold him and it feels right to be in his arms again. He'd been so afraid that he'd never be close enough to him again.
"Then I'm sure you've been freezing lately."

Gar presses a kiss to the side of the others neck. “You’re not warming up already?” He teases.
no subject
"I am."
no subject
"I'd like to make you even warmer."

He stands and carries Gar with him.
"Shall we retire to bed, my consort?"
